The Beginning
Boudicca was born on 30 AD into a family of Aristrocrats in South East England. In her years of growing up she was under the guardianship of another family because her parents were busy. There she learned customs of her tribe and Celtic traditions. This was very lucky for Boudicca because back then not many girls got to have the chance to read or write.
Family
When Boudicca came to age she married Prasutagus, king of Iceni,. They had two daughters. But soon Prasutagus died and had to leave half of his fortune to the Romans because of the huge debt he had. the other half was Boudicca's and her daughters', but when the Romans came over to collect their part of the fortune, the Romans decided to take the whole kingdom for themselves. but that wasn't all they also beat, tortured Boudicca, and raped her daughters. That was when Boudicca got the feeling for vengeance.
Revenge
After being thrown out out of her own kingdom, she gathered an army over a thousand men. She set on to to attack the Roman city, Colchester. Since Suetonius was fighting in Anglesey he left Colchester lightly armed, and Boudicca's army left it in devastation. As soon as they destroyed Colchester they aimed for London and then St. Albans. In all she killed over thousands of men. At last Boudicca was defeated when she encountered Suetonius' army. It was because of the more advanced and training that led Boudicca's downfall. But before Boudicca could be captured by the Romans, she took poison and died at the age of 62 in 62 AD. A Roman writer had described as, " Very tall. Her eyes seemed to stab you. Her voice was harsh and loud. Her thick, reddish-brown hair flung down below her waist. She always wore a great golden tore around her neck and a flowing tartan cloak fastened with a brooch.
